Scotland’s First Plasterboard Recycling Plant

In April 2010 Hamilton Waste & Recycling Ltd opened up Scotland’s first plasterboard recycling plant. The plant takes in waste plasterboard and recycles the plasterboard by separating it to gypsum powder and paper. The directors of Hamilton Waste & Recycling Ltd designed the plant and contracted Tong Engineering Ltd to build and commission the plant. The directors are delighted with the way the plant is performing by diverting 99% of waste plasterboard from landfill into sellable products.
