Skip hire charges are dependent on area, type of waste you are disposing of and also if you require a permit. To enquire please fill out our online enquiry form and one of the Hamilton Waste team will get back to you ASAP with the best solution.

What do your skip hire prices include?

Our standard skip hire service includes delivery, 1 week rental, collection and recycling at Smeaton Recycling Centre. Skips can be collected earlier at your convenience

What size skip do I need?

At Hamilton Waste we offer a full range of skips from 4 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. The Available Skips section on our website will give you an idea of what’s best for you. General household clearances or small DIY projects our 8yd size is usually the popular choice.

How high can I fill the skip?

Skips can be filled level to the top. Please note that unsafe or overloaded skips will be subject to a surcharge. Skips which are overloaded are unable to be collected for Health and Safety Reasons.

How long can I keep the skip for?

The standard hire term is 7 days from date of delivery. Longer term hires can be arranged. Please call us to discuss.

How long will it take to get a skip delivered?

Hamilton Waste guarantee next day delivery to all of our customers.

Do you recycle my waste?

At Hamilton Waste we recycle in excess of 97% for all the waste we receive into our waste transfer stations.

What if I’m not finished with the skip by pick up day?

If you have not finished with the skip on the agreed pick-up day please call us ASAP we will always be flexible and happy to help.

What can I put in the skip?

Skips are for general waste, inert waste (like soil, brick & rubble), wood, plasterboard, green waste (trees, bushes etc.) metal and builders waste.

What can I not put in the skip?

No Electrical items, Fridges, TV’s or monitors, tyres, hazardous waste which includes paints, solvents, batteries, liquids or asbestos. If you’re unsure that your waste is suitable, please give us a call. These items if found in the skip are subject to a further disposal charge. We also offer a range of hazardous waste disposal services, including asbestos.

What are my options if I cannot have the skip left on my property, but need to hire one?

We are able to offer a wait and load service at no extra cost where the driver will wait for half an hour while you fill the skip. (Please note if longer there will be an excess charge)

I need a skip on my drive, how wide is your lorry?

Your drive needs to be 2.4 metres wide for a normal truck with a builders skip (standard size). Please consider the suitability of your driveway surfacing for the weight of the skip vehicle and skip, particularly when filled. When placing a skip on your driveway all obstructions must be cleared in order for the skip to be offloaded and collected safely.

Do I need a road permit?

Permits are required by all local councils for skips that need to be placed on a public highway or road. All permits can be arranged by Hamilton Waste at no extra charge. Please allow extra time for a permit as these vary in different council areas anywhere from 48 hours to 2 weeks.

When and how do I pay?

All skip hire orders are paid for at the time of ordering or can be paid on delivery to the driver. You can pay online when you place your booking or our friendly sales staff will take your payment details over the phone. We accept payment by all major credit/debit cards.
